Domaine Potinet-Ampeau is one of the few winemakers that allows its wines to age in bottle for an extended period. The estate is currently run by fifth-generation winemaker Vincent Durrieu. He produces his wines in a classic way, opting for slow fermentation and a wood aging of 30% new wood. The white wines are bathed once every fortnight until malolactic fermentation is complete. After this, the white wines mature in wood for between 16 and 22 months and the reds for between 16 and 18 months. Once bottled, Vincent has a separate room where the wines can lie optimally for a longer period. This also allows us to offer older vintages from this wine producer.
Domaine Potinet-Ampeau is a domain of absolute excellence. The white and red wines are elegant and perfect for ageing. Once drunk, they are a delight in the glass. Vincent's Monthélie red wines in particular are a wonderful expression of the pinot noir grape.
