Productinformation
Champ Canet is a highly regarded Premier Cru vineyard in the northern part of the Puligny-Montrachet appellation, bordering Meursault. The vineyard measures 5.6ha and is located on the middle slope of the Côte d'Or slope, just above the Premier Cru vineyard of Les Combettes.
Champ Canet is not as steep as some vineyards further south but its eastern orientation means it still has good exposure to the morning sun. This promotes ripening and drainage after rainfall, which improves concentration. The soil of Champ Canet is similar to that of Perrières (Meursault), with a friable limestone soil covered by a thin layer of stony marl.
The fruit comes mainly from Clos de la Jacquelotte, one of Champ-Canet's lieu-dits. In the nose, a pleasant bouquet but not the volume of Garenne. On the palate, pronounced, rich and fleshy with fresh peach, white flowers and honeycomb. A generous wine with an abundance of ripe fruit, med/full body with good length.
