Red wines from Nuits-Saint-Georges almost always have a dark and intense color. Their aromas are powerful and complex, simultaneously blending cherry, black currant, with earthiness, leather and spice. They are among the most tannic Burgundies. The combination of tannin and body makes for big, firm wines.
