Productinformation
With the Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru, Clos Saint-Marc 2021, Domaine Michele & Patrice Rion has proven its commitment to making excellent Burgundy wines. The domaine's main goal is to produce a wine that accurately reflects the region, allowing the characteristic soils to be expressed. They achieve this by prioritising the production of balanced wines, ignoring the idea that achieving the maximum necessarily means obtaining the optimum, especially in extracting colour, tannins and phenols.
Clos St. Marc is located opposite the domaine, at the bottom of the hill. The vines grow in rich, brown soil on top of a soil of white and yellow marl. This geological composition plays an important role in the wine's flavour profile and retains moisture efficiently. At just under a hectare, Clos St. Marc is the smallest monopoly appellation in Nuits-Saint-Georges. This very special and rare distinction highlights the unique character and excellent quality of the wines coming from this vineyard.
