Productinformation
Vincent Durrieu is the fifth generation of the family to work the estate and continue the very traditional Burgundian methods. And it is a noble tradition. Domaine Potinet-Ampeau is one of the few domains that makes wine for aging and keeps its vintages in its own cellars for proper aging before release.
Perrières is a Premier Cru vineyard on the south side of Meursault, considered by many to be the best in the borough and second only to the various Montrachet Grand Cru imitations in the Côte de Beaune. The Chardonnays are floral and rich, with lively, honeyed characters and more than a little minerality. This part of Meursault is characterised by thin, rocky soils with high limestone content. In the various parts of Perrières, the topsoil is thinnest and consists only of a crumbling limestone marl over the hard rock.
