Productinformation
Domaine Jean Pascal is located in Puligny-Montrachet in the Côte de Beaune. The estate has 15 hectares spread across Puligny-Montrachet, Meursault, Volnay and Auxey-Duresses. It produces 75% white wines and 25% reds. It is a classic estate with a modern edge. The wines are made in the typical Burgundy style and do not try to pretend to be anything other than what they are. A producer of class with elegant wines.
The best Premier Cru wines are in the extreme north-east corner of the commune, bordering the Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru. Here the limestone soils are at their best and richest, giving the wines a minerality. The vineyard location is also the best, allowing the grapes to benefit from excellent ripening conditions. White wines from these Premier Cru locations age well in bottle. They slowly evolve from a powerful, opulent youth to a complex, elegant style after a decade or more. The wine is a combination of the 1er Cru vineyards: Les Chalumeaux, Les Folatières and Hameau de Blagny. Jean died in 2021 and this is a tribute to him.
