Productinformation
Domaine Jean Pascal is located in Puligny-Montrachet in the Côte de Beaune. The estate has 15 hectares spread across Puligny-Montrachet, Meursault, Volnay and Auxey-Duresses. It produces 75% white wines and 25% reds. It is a classic estate with a modern edge. The wines are made in the typical Burgundy style and do not try to pretend to be anything other than what they are. A producer of class with elegant wines.
Puligny's largest 1er Cru vineyard (17 hectares) and considered one of the finest, on the same slope and contour as Montrachet and Chevalier-Montrachet. The vines were planted in the late 1930s. Folatières means "folles-terres" in old French and was once considered a haunted place. The soil is a thin layer (less than 20 cm) of clay and limestone on a subsoil. Les Folatières is right in the middle of the slope with an eastern orientation and is surrounded by other Premier Cru vineyards such as Clavaillon and Champ Gain.
