Productinformation
Les Chalumaux Premier cru is a vineyard of 5.8ha and includes the 1.6ha Sous le Courthil lieu-dit, which is located at the very northwest of Les Chalumaux itself. The Chalumaux vineyard is the highest and northernmost vineyard on the border of Meursault and Blagny in the northwest corner of Puligny-Montrachet. In fact, Les Chalumaux occupies the same part of the slope as Meursault's Perrieres climate, with which it shares a similar terroir.
The resulting wines can reflect this and while still elegant, herbaceous and floral, they can show some austere and mineral characters in their youth. Still, some specimens have responded well to bottle aging.
This crisp white wine seduces the palate with notes of orange blossom, ripe tangerine, jasmine and white tea, all balanced by a racing acidity and richness.
