Productinformation
This plot, with 0.30 ha of vines planted in 1954, is in the upper part of the Charmes-Chambertin terroir called ‘Aux Charmes’, the origin of its name. Thibault's plot is opposite the border between Latricières Chambertin and the famous Chambertin.
The unique terroir consisting of Jura marl and limestone creates a wine with unique finesse and generosity. The grapes are harvested by hand and a high percentage of whole bunches (70%) are used to highlight the tension and freshness of this climate.
The wine is aged for 20 months in 50% new oak. It results in an extraordinarily deep and elegant wine. The complexity of this grand cru is also evident in the youth. Think black fruits, dried flowers, spices with lots of charm and freshness.
