Productinformation
Domaine Creusefond produces wines with fantastic value for money. Alain believes the terroir should speak without too much embellishment. The percentage of wood depends on each cuvée but will not exceed 35%.
Poruzot is an 11.4ha Premier Cru vineyard, on the middle slope of the Côte d'Or wall. The terroir is dominated limestone. The vineyard is divided into three lieu-dits: Porusot Dessus, Le Porusot and Porusots Dessous.
Creusefond's plot is in Porusot Dessus, which is the highest of the three lieu-dits. This is a relatively thin strip of land with eastern orientation, running along the slope between Les Genevrières to the south and Les Bouchères to the northwest. At the top of the slope, the soil is shallow and limestone is close to the surface, this poor soil is therefore considered the best location within Poruzot. It produces intense, concentrated wines.
