As a 22-year-old, Lorraine Senard Pereira took over the estate from her father in 2000. 2002 white was her first independent harvest, followed by the reds in 2005. Indeed, her wines do differ from those of her father, Philippe Senard. Today, those wines are markedly softer and more harmonious. Today, Comte Senard once again offers the ample assurance of a true high-class Burgundy.
Lorraine Senard produces about six grands crus from the Corton hillside, of which the monopole Clos de Meix, with 1.64 ha, offers the highlight result.
This special Bourgone Rouge is named after Lorraine's son, as they both share the same character; Fruity and expressive!
This delicious everyday drinker comes from 20-year-old Pinot Noir vines and is aged in oak for a total of 14 months, 50% of which is new oak. This produces a complex nose with distinct aromas of ripe red fruit, think cherries and plums but also mushroom, barn and light vegetal. On the palate fresh and supple almost tender, drink within 2 years!
