Productinformation

Winemaker Marie-Ange Robin is the fourth generation of winemakers in the family. It was her father Guy who, plot by plot, bought and planted Chablis vineyards in the 1950s and 1960s - at the time, many winemakers left Chablis because viniculture in this cold region was too difficult. But it was Marie-Ange who took the winery to great heights.

Domaine Guy Robin boasts a rich, if not the richest, collection of old vines. About 80% of the wine from the vines - spread across five grand crus and four premier crus are 'Vieilles Vignes'.

These old vines, and traditional vinification methods ensure that there are few Chablis wines with as much character, concentration and complexity as Marie-Ange's wines. The wines are across the board; seductive, rich and unctuous.

Bougros is a grand cru vineyard of 15.86ha and forms the northwestern border of the Chablis grand cru block. Slightly lower down the slope, frost poses a recurring danger. In addition, the soil is also somewhat deeper and contains more clay and marl, in addition to the classic Chablis chalk, than on top of the plateau. This results in wines with a broad mouthfeel and with more texture.

The estate's vineyards cover just over a hectare in this grand cru, at the western end. Aromas of lemon zest with ripe white fruit, full body and texture with lively acidity.
