Productinformation
In Puligny-Montrachtet, all classified vineyards are located in the middle of the Montrachet hill. These include the premier cru vineyards like ''Pucelles'' and ''La Garenne'' or the even more famous Grand Cru vineyards in the south-west of the appellation bordering and overlapping with Chassagne-Montrachet.
Moingeon produces its Puligny-Montrachet in the lieu-dits Le Trézin (<8ha). This climate is located high on the mountain in the north-west of Puligny-Montrachet, bordering Saint-Aubin and west of Blagny. Moingeon owns just over 1.5ha and these are located above the premier cru vineyard La Garenne and north/northwest of Sous le Puits, also a premier cru vineyard.
The altitude makes it cool here, this is partly made up for by the east/southeast orientation that provides more sun exposure. The soil is clay-limestone which gives the wine a distinct mineral touch.
Produced around 2,400 bottles a year, think citrus, green apple, hawthorn, marzipan and flint. Lifted by delicate use of oak that provides buttery nuances with mineral tension.
