Productinformation
The Premier Cru vineyards of Saint-Aubin are divided into two parts. One is located on a roughly 1 km southeastern ridge between Gamay and Saint-Aubin; the other is on either side of a valley southeast of Gamay, on the border with the communes of Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet.
The three-hectare Les Frionnes falls into the first category. The vineyard is located just outside the village of Saint-Aubin
Les Frionnes is also an umbrella title encompassing the neighbouring Premier Cru-lieu-dits Es Champs (along the slope towards Gamay) and Les Perrières (back towards Saint-Aubin village). As such can n wines from a combination of these three sites can be labelled "Les Frionnes".
This wine from Moingeon comes from the Lieu-dits Es Champs, this is a cooler part so the wine is fresher and tighter in style. Here it has a 0.84(ha) plot with east-southeast orientation, clay-limestone soil with deep soils. The 3300 bottles made from this cuvee are typified by a pale yellow colour with a clean nose of citrus, stone fruit and wet stone. On the palate intense, exciting with medium concentration and high mouthwatering levels.
