Productinformation
Vincent Durrieu is the fifth generation of the family to work the estate and continue the very traditional Burgundian methods. And it is a noble tradition. Domaine Potinet-Ampeau is one of the few domains that makes wine for aging and keeps its vintages in its own cellars for proper aging before release.
Meursault is an appellation of the Côte de Beaune. The vineyards are located south of Beaune and cover an area of 395.84 hectares. Meursault is best known for its white wines, which account for 97% of production (382.32 hectares). The name 'les Rougeots' derives from an ancient disease known as 'rougeot parasitaire' (black rot), which caused the vine leaves to turn red or 'rouge'. This is undoubtedly the origin of the name of this vineyard, as the leaves here tend to turn red.
