Productinformation
Vincent Durrieu is the fifth generation of the family to work the estate and continue the very traditional Burgundian methods. And it is a noble tradition. Domaine Potinet-Ampeau is one of the few domains that makes wine for aging and keeps its vintages in its own cellars to age them properly before release.
Champ Gain is a Premier Cru vineyard on the upper slopes of the Côte d'Or in Burgundy's Puligny-Montrachet appellation. Champ Gain Chardonnays are light and elegant, with lively minerality and floral, citrusy flavours. This lighter style is very different from that of most of the commune. This has a lot to do with the altitude and soils. Champ Gain roughly means 'reclaimed field'. This refers to the fact that the now valuable vineyard site was once scrub and forest.
