Domaine Alvina Pernot. In 2018, Alvina established her own négoce, growing grapes from her grandfather's vineyards. After a rigorous selection of which plots best suited her own style, she began production. Alvina wants to make wines with a bit more tension and therefore seeks grapes from higher-altitude plots. Moreover, she prefers to pick earlier to preserve more freshness and tension. From the debut 2018 vintage, Alvina Pernot no longer used new oak. All wines matured on their lees in used barrels, mainly from François Frères, until they were transferred to be bottled.
Charmes, often written as Les Charmes, is one of Meursault's largest and best-known Premier Cru vineyards. Located on the lower slopes of the Cote d'Or on the south side of the village. Made entirely from chardonnay, the wines are lively and honeyed with rich, nutty characters and floral overtones.
