With the 2019 Richebourg Grand Cru, Domaine Thibault-Liger Belair has proven its commitment to making excellent Burgundy wines. Owned by the Liger-Belair family since 1720, this domain has a rich history of 250 years. In 2001, Thibault joined the company and took over the vineyards, transforming the domain into the renowned Domaine Thibault Liger-Belair. Before that, Thibault studied vinification and oenology in the Beaujolais at the Moulin a Ven. He also worked for a communications company in Paris. In 2001, Thibault decided to follow his true vocation and start making his own wine.
0.52 hectares of vines planted between 1931 and 1936. This wine is considered one of the largest crus of Vosne-Romanée and is also the oldest. It is located in the historic part of Richebourg, in the south of the appellation, about 50 metres north of Romanée-Conti. This complex terroir is hard to describe. There is clay and limestone, but it is the variety of colours and shapes that make it so complex.
