With the Moulin à Vent, Les Vieilles Vignes 2016, Domaine Thibault-Liger Belair has proven its commitment to making excellent Burgundy wines. Owned by the Liger-Belair family since 1720, this domain has a rich history of 250 years. In 2001, Thibault joined the company and took over the vineyards, transforming the domain into the renowned Domaine Thibault Liger-Belair. Before that, Thibault studied vinification and oenology in the Beaujolais at the Moulin a Ven. He also worked for a communications company in Paris. In 2001, Thibault decided to follow his true vocation and start making his own wine.
The cuvée Moulin à Vent Les Vieilles Vignes is a blend of nine parcels covering about seven hectares or half of the Pierres Roses estate. The vineyards were planted between 1910 and 1955 and are situated in a strip around the Moulin à Vent hill. The north wind gives this wine great freshness. The soil is shallow and consists mainly of white and pink sand from the decomposition of pink granite and quartz. 100% Gamay.
