Vigneron Hugues Godmé is the fifth generation of his family to produce Champagne in Verzenay, a village classified as 100% Grand Cru in the Montagne de Reims area. He owns and farms about 8 hectares of vineyards spread over 40 different plots in four villages: Verzy, Verzenay, Ville-Dommange and Villers-Marmery, all vinified separately to best express the subtlety and strength of the terroir of origin.
Since 2006, Hugues has been committed to organic and biodynamic viticulture, opening up to a new perspective of respect for the natural balance of the soil, environmental impact and human well-being. He was awarded the Ecocert certificate in 2013 and the Biodyvin certificate in 2014. Broad, powerful and balanced champagnes, made with passion and strong tradition, for an annual production of around 45,000 bottles.
The nice thing is that Hugues Godmé is still hardly known to the general public. Thanks to a tip from Benoît Lahaye (one of the absolute best in Champagne, we joined Hugues. In short, a real find!
