Located in the heart of Chassagne-Montrachet, Château de la Maltroye is one of the most recent additions to our range. Owned by the Cournut family since 1939, the château produces both white and red wines. Currently at the helm is Jean-Pierre Cournut, a passionate winemaker with a love of art and immense talent. Worldwide, his wines are recognised as the top Chassagne-Montrachet, with his Chassagne-Montrachet 1er cru, la Dent de Chien, standing out. This is a special wine, made from vineyards located against the upper Montrachet. Geologically, the vineyard is very similar to Chevalier-Montrachet; a light earthy soil that is calcareous and stony.

Château de la Maltroye is 12 hectares and has vineyards mainly in Chassagne-Montrachet. Besides the mythical la Dent de Chien, the 1er cru wine La Maltroie is also a crown jewel. The château has a monopole of 2.5 hectares, most of which is used for red wine production. We are proud to represent this fantastic domain on the Dutch market.
