Domaine Louis Lequin is based in Santenay, but has vineyards throughout the Côte d'Or: Chassagne-Montrachet, Pommard, Corton and Nuits-Saint-Georges. It is an estate with a rich family history dating back to 1604. At that time, the family was already cultivating its own vineyards in Santenay. In 1669, the vineyard "Les Clos Genet" was planted and over the years it became one of the most important plots. Now it is Antoine, Louis Lequin's son, who heads the estate, following in his father's footsteps, with more and more plots being added. The estate now has about 7 hectares of vineyards. It is a domain that keeps itself in reserve for a few years, so that we can appreciate wines with ripeness.
Domaine Louis Lequin is an emblematic winemaker of Santenay. It is a domain that can deliver more volume in older vintages, allowing restaurants to put exciting wines on the menu. The techniques in the vineyard and cellar are traditional. The grapes thrive by doing no more than is necessary. The result is pure and very drinkable wines. For us, this is a fantastic addition to our range.
