For four generations, Domaine André Moingeon et Fils has been a cherished family estate, cultivating 9.5 hectares in the communes of Saint-Aubin, Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet. With a rich heritage handed down over the years, the family estate now covers almost 10 hectares and produces 27,000 bottles a year. Some plots have been in the family for over a century.
Domaine Moingeon André et Fils really began to flourish in the 1950s, when André Moingeon took over and expanded the estate from a few hectares with no bottled production to a thriving business. In the early days, the entire production was sold at harvest.
The growth of the estate continued into the 2000s, particularly in 2003 with the planting of 30 ares of Saint-Aubin 1er Cru " La Châtenière ", a jewel of the Saint-Aubin appellation. This addition completed the range of wines until 2006, when the first harvest after this expansion was at its peak. In 2007, however, tragedy struck with the untimely departure of Gérard, leaving an indelible mark on both the estate and the village.
A new chapter began in 2009 when Florent, Michel's second son, returned to the estate after two years of studying viticulture and oenology. Armed with knowledge and boundless ambition, Florent's main objective was to expand the domain's activities and continually improve the quality of its wines.
