Domaine Paul Pernot is a classic winemaker of the old school. The estate was founded in 1959 and is located in the centre of Puligny-Montrachet. Paul Pernot once started with 10 hectares of vineyards and specialised in Puligny-Montrachet production, today it has grown into a true family business. His sons, Michel and Paul have long been co-owners and his granddaughter Alvina Pernot also assists a lot in the management of the company. Today, the estate has almost doubled in size and they own 23 hectares of vineyards. Most of this production (sometimes as much as 80%) is sold to trading houses and the best is kept for their own production.

Domaine Paul Pernot is a domain of traditions. Vinification procedures have been the same for years. Most white wines ferment in barrel and bâttonage depends on the harvest. The 1er crus and grand crus receive 30-40% new wood, but precision can depend on the vintage. According to Paul Pernot, knowing what is best under changing conditions is why his wine is a terroir wine.
