The domain traces its origins back to the early 1900s when Joseph Pascal started helping out in the vineyards of Puligny-Montrachet. About 50 years later, the domain produced its first wines, but unfortunately they couldn't make a living from it, so they started producing vines. This was such a success that they now produce 500,000 vines a year. Domaine Jean Pascal currently has 15 hectares of vineyards in four districts; Puligny-Montrachet, Meursault, Auxey-Duresses and Volnay. The estate is run by Joseph (Jean Pascal's son) and his wife Alexandra. He can mostly be found in the vineyards while she deals with winemaking.
It is a classic domain with a modern edge. The wines are made in typical Burgundy style and do not try to pretend to be anything other than what they are. A producer of class with elegant wines.
