Marie-Ange Robin is the owner of Domaine Guy Robin & Fils. She is the second generation winemaker and has taken over from her father and mother. Marie-Ange's father is actually the initiator of the domain. He was no stranger to the wine industry himself and was particularly familiar with developing and selling rootstocks. This brought the family into contact with many other winemakers and in 1960 the family was persuaded to start their own business; Domaine Guy Robin & Fils was born. This was followed by a period when father Guy laid the foundations and slowly grew the domain. A few years later, around the year 2000, Marie-Ange had to make a choice. Stay in Paris and work in the art trade or return to Chablis to work with her parents on the estate. Her choice to return ensures a huge development of the domaine and brings the wines to a level of unprecedented excellence.
Domaine Guy Robin & Fils covers 20.2 hectares and is farmed sustainably. Of this, 80% is planted on four 1er and five Grand Cru vineyards. All grapes are harvested by hand and pressed immediately. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks and the wines are then aged in old French oak (10% new) until June the following year. There is no bâttonage during this period. Her wines are energetic and elegant with lots of fresh citrus notes; a true mirror of Chablis' terroir.
