Productinformation
With the Gevrey-Chambertin, La Croix des Champs 2019, Domaine Thibault-Liger Belair has proven its commitment to making excellent Burgundy wines. Owned by the Liger-Belair family since 1720, this domain has a rich history of 250 years. In 2001, Thibault joined the company and took over the vineyards, transforming the domain into the renowned Domaine Thibault Liger-Belair. Before that, Thibault studied vinification and oenology in the Beaujolais at the Moulin a Ven. He also worked for a communications company in Paris. In 2001, Thibault decided to follow his true vocation and start making his own wine.
This plot is just 0.20 hectares. Originally planted in 1964, it lay fallow from 2013 to 2014 before being replanted in 2015. These vines are located southeast of Gevrey-Chambertin on clay soil with relatively little limestone. This was the first plot to be vinified in 2006. The aim is to obtain some aromatic freshness from the stalks to compensate for the low limestone content of the soil. 100% Pinot Noir.
