Productinformation
Although Corton is generally thought of as an appellation for red wines made from Pinot Noir, about five percent of Corton wines are made from Chardonnay and are sold as Corton Blanc Grand Cru.
When it was discovered that the famous limestone vein of Corton-Charlemagne extended into part of the Clos de Meix monopole, the decision was made to uproot the red vines in that section and plant white instead. It was a bullseye! Corton Blanc is now considered one of the finest white wines of Burgundy, renowned for its combination of fruit flavors and mineral character.
