Productinformation
The family estate is located in the heart of Chassagne-Montrachet. Domaine Blain-Gagnard owns about 8 hectares, most of which are in Chassagne-Montrachet. The wines are exciting, refreshing and have wonderful balance. They are characteristic of the region and therefore an example for others to follow. Domaine Blain-Gagnard's wines are among the favourites of many wine lovers and ourselves. They are therefore highly sought after.
Producing both Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, this site offers excellent wines from both grape varieties. The red wines of the Clos Saint-Jean Premier Cru are particularly remarkable, with lush, ripe characteristics despite their sometimes lighter colour. The hill next to Clos Saint-Jean has a prominent quarry that reveals the region's soil profile - stony and calcareous, anchored by the Côte d'Or's predominant limestone. The topsoil is a mixture of limestone fragments and deep red clay, whose composition varies throughout the vineyard. Although this terroir produces high-quality red and white wines, the reds are of particular prestige, their often lighter appearance hiding their remarkable ageing potential.
