This Grand Cru is situated on a gently sloping hillside. It is one of the sunniest and earliest-ripening areas of Gevrey-Chambertin, often ripening a few days earlier than the Chambertin. The soil consists of white limestone blocks whose permeability makes for perfect drainage. At the top of the vineyard, some rocks emerge from this marble limestone soil.
Deep purple colour, with a slightly fleshy aroma at first. The fruit has a rich, luxurious style and is both dense and heavy, while retaining freshness. This is a stylish and intriguing wine, with good density and persistence. It is definitely ripe, with flavours of dark raspberries.
