The Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru, La Combe d'Orveau 2022 from Perrot-Minot showcases the top quality of this esteemed producer. Perrot-Minot is a Burgundian winery with a rich history, known for making wine with great care and attention to the terroir.

In the upper part of the Combe d'Orveau, there are more stones and rocky points, which bring finesse and minerality. In the lower part, near Musigny, finer soils with more silt make for richer, more intense and fresher wines. The ultra cuvée Chambolle Musigny Premier Cru La Combe d'Orveau is made from the oldest part of this vineyard, adjacent to Musigny. They are the result of meticulous work based on thorough observation of the soil and the instinct of a passionate winemaker.

The 2022 growing season was marked by striking climatic contrasts.

A rainy autumn and frosty December were followed by unusually mild weather in February and March. The following spring too brought abundant sunshine, dryness and was remarkably mild. May was even the warmest in 50 years, this encouraged vigorous growth. The summer was one of the hottest since 2003 with several heat waves in June, July and the entire month of August. The accumulated water reserves from the winter ensured harmonious ripening of the grapes despite the heat.

The results are wines with finesse and remarkable elegance that have managed to retain exquisite freshness despite the hot summer. Tones of blood orange and red fruit lend vibrancy to a generous texture with plenty of juice and concentration. Supported by elegantly refined tannins that provide structure.
