The estate owns two vineyards with the Bourgogne Pinot Noir regional appellation: they are located in the village of Morey-Saint-Denis.
The first plot, planted in 1968, enjoys a prime location that allows it to fully embrace the Morey-Saint-Denis terroir, characterised by clay-limestone soils and composed of Callovian marls. This mature vineyard yields grapes that, when they reach maturity, reveal wonderful concentration. The second plot, planted in 1998, brings a lively freshness essential to our blending, thanks to its youthful character.
The 2022 growing season was marked by striking climatic contrasts.
A rainy autumn and a frosty December were followed by unusually mild weather in February and March. The following spring too brought abundant sunshine, dryness and was remarkably mild. May was even the warmest in 50 years, this encouraged vigorous growth. The summer was one of the hottest since 2003 with several heat waves in June, July and the entire month of August. The accumulated water reserves from the winter ensured harmonious ripening of the grapes despite the heat.
The results are wines with finesse and remarkable elegance that managed to retain exquisite freshness despite the hot summer.
