Productinformation
Domaine Creusefond is a relatively small family-run winery based in Auxey-Duresses. Vincent is a third-generation winemaker who has partnered with his father Alain Creusefond since 2001. The estate covers just under 12ha (9,000 vines/ha) in the villages: Auxey-Duresses, Meursault, Monthelie, Beaune, Volnay and Pommard.
Auxey-Duresses is located in the heart of the Saint-Romain valley, between Meursault and Monthelie. The two slopes of the village are predominantly east-facing and enjoy an excellent southern and south-eastern orientation.
Add poor soils with a high percentage of limestone and all facets are in place to produce high-quality wines.
Red wines come from the slopes next to Monthelie, on very stony, steep and marl-like soils the Pinot Noir acquires full character and velvety texture.
Domaine Creusefond produces wines with fantastic value for money. Alain believes the terroir should speak without too much embellishment. The percentage of wood depends on each cuvée but will not exceed 35%.
